## Appending Arbitrary Columns

Given a (linear) ordered orthogonal array OOA(*M*, *s*, *S*_{b}, *T *, *k*) with *T * ≥ *k*, a (linear) OOA(*M*, *s*, *S*_{b}, *T * + 1, *k*) can be constructed.

Since the entries in depth *T * + 1 are irrelevant for strength *k* ≤ *T * < *T * + 1, the new OOA is obtained by appending arbitrary entries for depth *T * + 1.

This process can be reversed by depth reduction, therefore OOAs with depth

*T*≥*k*and depth*T*+ 1 are equivalent.
